According to a report issued Monday only three percent of Americans follow the recommended guidelines for exercise, proper diet, and not smoking even though numerous studies show this leads to a healthier life. How does you're lifestyle stack up, and if there's a weakpoint what do you think it is?

Re: A Report On The American Lifestyle
Sun, May 8, 2005 - 8:43 PMI think that my lifestyle is fine from an exercise standpoint, I don't smoke, and seldom drink. I am a vegetarian...and probably should be a little more attentive to my diet..adding supplements and such. I have been reading about identical hormones...and other anti-aging issues. All in all I am very happy with how I look and feel.....but, we could all make improvements I guess.

Re: A Report On The American Lifestyle
Sun, May 8, 2005 - 9:28 PMThat's a good question, considering I'm unsure what the recommended guidelines are. (Details?) Usually, I'm pretty skeptical about recommended goverment guidelines i.e traditional food pyramid.
I exercise 5-6 times a week, eat well (not great), don't really drink or smoke (4-5 times a year). I would say diet is my biggest weakness. This is mostly because I have a high stress job that requires me to work long hours, along with a very busy home schedule. When this is coupled with weight training and exercise, I find that I am hungry 24/7 and have limited time to prepare healthy meals.
